The staff and leadership here at St. Marks UMC is comprised of men and women who love, care, and pray for every single person in the church. Staff & Leadership

  • Dan Metzger, Senior Pastor

    Pastor Dan Metzger was born and raised on a farm just east of Findlay. He grew up going to West Independence UMC, where he accepted Christ at a young age. After graduating from Arcadia High school in 2001, he studied History at Bluffton

    University, where he met his wife, Holly.  Upon graduation from Bluffton, Dan and Holly were married and went to Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky where he received his Masters of Divinity. 

    Dan has served as the pastor of Van Buren UMC, resident pastor at Anderson Hills UMC, lead pastor at Lewis Center UMC, and lead pastor at Epiphany UMC. He is passionate about preaching, developing relationships, and helping people to discover their own story of life change through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

    Dan and Holly are the parents to three daughters: Adelyn, Renee, and Emilia.

  • Dave Charles, Associate Pastor

    Dave joined the St. Marks staff in 1999.  He started here as the Children's Education Coordinator and later became the Youth Pastor and Outreach Pastor. He is currently appointed at St. Marks as our Associate Pastor where he has the opportunity to preach, provide pastoral care and still oversee the youth and outreach of our church. 

    Dave and his wife Heidi have three boys Loren, Avery and Henry.

  • Michelle Shiparski, Children & Family Pastor

    Michelle joined the staff in 2006 after serving as a Children's Ministry volunteer for 10 years.  She is passionate about training, equipping and resourcing families to live out their faith in their homes, the church and in the community!

    Michelle has been a member of St. Marks since 1988.  She and her husband Steve were married in St. Marks, and they have three adult children, Blake, Madison, and Zoe.
